Here are my contact sheets for the Cyclical nature of things. I took a lot of photos of a thunderstorm over Boone. My concept is to take a look at how life is just a cycle of waiting around, interrupted by brief moments of excitement, and how often important moments seem to be over before they start, much like lightning I want to use the murky forms in the clouds and lightning to create delicate figures emerging from the darkness. I took these pictures because I thought the storm looked very interesting, and usually when I see lightning it is just for a moment, and not preserved forever, so it was interesting to see the forms preserved.
I have a hard time seeing the images, but it seems like a really neat concept. Fleeting moments, capturing only glimpses of their beauty and then waiting for another flash of excitement... a romantic notion to me. Can't wait to see where you take it.
ReplyDeleteI love this concept. I think it totally relates and is easily understood by people but is also abstracted through the subject that you chose.

Love how you described the concept, very nice and easy to understand. Images are hard to see, but they probably look darn cool bigger. Good job.
ReplyDeleteGreat concept. It is hard to see the photos as many people have mentioned, but I am interested in how you will put them together to create the figures you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI like the metaphor of your concept. I'm not sure exactly what I would use, but possibly some subtle imagery hinting more at your concept could be intermingled with the clouds.
ReplyDeleteNight shots are always compelling it seems. What are you trying to say with the lightning? Is it spiritual? merely beautiful? Try to answer the question of what you are trying to say- it will help immensly with choosing images to composite. Maybe you don't need to layer on this image and are interested in the power of the landscape. nice idea. good start. Could you use clouds with blending modes to recreate reality? create your own reality?
ReplyDeleteAwesome lightning shots, I really like your concept but maybe add some other photos of these brief moments of excitement to add a little more imagery.
